At the Faculty of Humanities’ annual awards evening on 22 October, Dr Catrien Wentink [above, second from right] received a Faculty Teaching Award and Prof Conroy Cupido [above, right] received a Creative Output Award recognising his musical direction and conducting of an Aardklop opera concert that won a kykNET Fiësta in 2025. Other staff members that contributed to the success of that concert include Prof Tinus Botha, Dr Antoinette Olivier, and Mr Thomas Erlank.

The CCM Ensemble, led by Dr Michelle Pretorius [above, left] and Ms Titi Luzipo, added a touch of flair to the evening with soulful renditions of popular songs. The Marimba Ensemble entertained the attendees prior to the event. MASARA director, Prof Chris van Rhyn [above, second from left] also attended the ceremony.
