Mr Yuhl Headman assumed his duties in August as administrative assistant for the concert series and MASARA. Learn more about him:

What are your professional goals and expectations?

My goal at this moment is to settle in and understand the way things are done at the School of Music. I have come to see that there are some dynamics that I need to learn, and to think further out of the box. I would like to create awareness of the performing spaces and see more audience members coming to the concerts.

What is your favourite time of the week at work?

My favourite time at work is the mornings. I normally get to work around 06:30 when it is still quiet and that gives me about an hour and a half to centre myself and read through e-mail, reply to those that I can, and plan my day.

What are your top-3 favourite pieces of music?

I don’t have any specific music I love. I am open to any type of music, especially if I can move to it or imagine a choreography that would go with the music. [Mr Headman is also an accomplished dancer and choreographer. Ed.]

How do you relax?

There are different ways that I relax, either playing board games with my daughters, reading books, or listening to music while in my tracksuit with an open space in which to choreograph. If my daughters are not around, I watch movies.

What made you happy recently?

What made me happy or excited lately is preparing for my daughter who is going to high school next year.
