Jetty de Vries (organ) and Human Coetzee (cello) will present a concert on Tuesday 26 July 2016 at 19:30 in the Dutch Reformed Church Miederpark, Aarbei Avenue with co-musicians Piet Koornhof (violin) and the soprano Marguerite van Wyk.

The programme is mainly dedicated to works by the late-Romantic composer, Max Reger (1873-1916), in commemoration of the centenary of his death. It includes an arrangement for violin, cello and organ of his organ work Weihnachten (Christmas) and as indicated by the title it contains a few familiar Christmas melodies. The famous Marien Wiegenlied as well as Waldeinsamkeit (a love song) for soprano and organ will also be performed.

A brand new composition by Martin Watt, former ‘Potchefstromer’ and NWU alumnus (both as student and lecturer) will be performed for the first time. Three Dances for cello and organ was commissioned by PUK Arts and composed especially for Jetty de Vries and Human Coetzee.
