Prominent South African guitarist, James Grace, will present a solo guitar recital entitled From Spain to Cuba at the Conservatory Hall in Potchefstroom on Tuesday 17 May 2016 at 19:30. He will perform works by Sardinha, Mangoré, Brouwer, Rodrigo, Sor and Albeniz.
He has already released five solo albums, of which two earned him SAMA nominations for Best Popular Classical Album and Best Instrumental Album, respectively. At the 2010 ABSA KKNK, he received a KANNA award for Best Male Artist.
A regular performer at major arts festivals and in concert series, Grace’s performance schedule frequently takes him throughout Southern Africa, Europe and the Middle East. He is currently Head of Classical Guitar Studies at the University of Cape Town’s College of Music.
