Ms Truida Oliver completes her Doctorate in Piano Performance

Ms Truida Oliver, senior lecturer in piano, recently completed the final requirements for her doctoral studies at the University of Pretoria and she will consequently receive the DMus degree in April. Her three performance recitals consisted of sonatas for cello and piano with Human Coetzee (cello), an art song recital with Erica Eloff (soprano), and a concert of three piano trios with Zanta Hofmeyr (violin) and Maciej Lacny (cello). NWU School of Music limelight concert and exhibition at Brooklyn Theatre — 1 March 2014

The School of Music at North-West University will be presenting a limelight concert at the Brooklyn Theatre in Pretoria on Saturday 1 March 2014 at 11:00. Staff and students will perform music by Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Weber and Richard Strauss for soprano, baritone, flute, bassoon, violin and piano. After the concert the staff will be available until 12:30 to speak with prospective music students and their teachers about music study.
